Government Linked Companies, GLCs play a very important role in Brunei's business landscape as they provide employment opportunities and potential partnership for local Small Medium Enterprises. Private companies play a big role in this as well. Over the last few years, Brunei has attracted interest from various international firms to invest in the country, notably from Canada, China, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Turkey. Industries of investment include food processing, manufacturing and tourism among many others. Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Permanent Secretary For Investment at the Ministry of Finance and Economy was speaking at the Borneo Bulletin Yearbook, BBYB 2019 Business Networking Session Event.
