The National Basketball League ended last night with Brunei Muara clinching the women's championship and Tutong winning the men's category in the finals.
In the women's category, Tutong team, clad in black lead the first quarter 8 by 4. However, Brunei Muara reversed the situation in the second quarter taking a 25-15 lead and continued with a 40 to 27 lead in the third quarter. In the final quarter, Brunei Muara cemented the women champion's title with a 51 to 42 score.
The men's category saw Tutong, also in black, winning the title after beating Brunei Muara 'A'. At the beginning Tutong led Brunei Muara by 12 to 11. Although Brunei Muara gave a tough fight in the third quarter and narrowed the score to 51 to 54, it finally lost to Tutong which won by 80 to 75. Prizes and medals were presented by Awang Alex Kwang, Chairman of Brunei Darussalam Basketball Association.
