The welfare of needy patients in the country received attention from the Ministry of Health. Yesterday morning, a delegation from the Ministry visited 22 patients and family members nationwide who are identified and registered under the Medical Welfare Section, for donation presentation of food, basic necessities and medical equipment.
In the Brunei Muara District, 5 patients' houses were visited by the first delegation of the Ministry of Health which was led by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health. Also in the delegation were Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman@Othman and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon, Members of the Legislative Council.
The second delegation, headed by Awang Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, visited the other 4 patients' houses in the Brunei Muara District. The delegation comprised of staff under the Ministry of Health, members from the Allied Health Association, Brunei Medical Association, Brunei Darussalam Society of Anaesthesiologists; and Brunei Darussalam Medical Laboratory Scientist Association and several private companies including La Vida; Borneo United Enterprise Sendirian Berhad; Osco Sendirian Berhad; Hong Kiat Trading & Company; Medicorp Sendirian Berhad; Serikandi Group of Companies; Bayu Ilham Motors Sendirian Berhad; and Rentokil Initial (B) Sendirian Berhad.
The visit was the annual welfare activity conducted by the Ministry of Health through the Medical Welfare Section, to hand over aid from the Medical Welfare Section's Patient Charity Aid Fund. The Medical Welfare Section plays a vital role in facilitating the patients who are in need from the aspect of socio-economy.
