The ASEAN Tourism Forum has attracted 36 international media to know more about Brunei Darussalam. Aside from a briefing to promote local tourism products, the media was also brought to visit places of interest in the country. This afternoon, the media was briefed on the development of the Brunei Tourism Industry. The Acting Deputy Director of Tourism Development in a media briefing shared the construction of the first 'luxury' eco-resort in the Temburong District; renovating the old District Office as an information centre; and setting up a river centre in Kampong Batang Duri will further boost the country's tourism industry.
According to Dayang Salinah binti Salleh, the eco-resort project on a 2 hectare land in Kampong Perdayan, Temburong District which cost about 4 point 5 million dollars will create a comprehensive luxury eco-resort integrating elements of a luxurious, sustainable, safe, reliable, attractive as well as affordable tourism product. She said, the projects will further upgrade the tourism activity and products in the Temburong District apart from providing business opportunities to local residents as well as the micro, small and medium enterprises in the district.
