Enhancing cooperation in the areas of security especially in efforts to combat transnational crime were among the matters discussed during a bilateral meeting between security and enforcement agencies of Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Public Security, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office also discussed bilateral cooperation between security and enforcement agencies of Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of public Security, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam especially on cooperative efforts in the prevention and fight against crime, as well as in dealing with cyber security and terrorism.
The country's delegation was led Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Second Minister of Defence in his capacity as the Chairman of National Security Committee (NSC); while His Excellency General To Lam, Minister of Public Security led the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam delegation. The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam's delegation include His Excellency Tran Van Khoa, Ambassador-Designate of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Brunei Darussalam; Lieutenant General Truong Van Thong, Director General of the Department of Foreign Relations; Lieutenant General Pham Van Cac, Director General of the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes; Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Dung, Director General of the Department of Internal Security; and Lieutenant General Le Dong Phong, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Department.
The NSC was also represented by Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali, the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force; Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; Permanent Secretaries and heads of departments who are members of the NSC.
