In conjunction with the Universal Children's Day celebration, lights at the Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien bridge and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha bridge were turned on 20th November night. It marked one of the government's commitment in rectifying the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on 27th of December 1995.
Blue lights were turned on at both bridges, which is the official colour for the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF.
The lighting began on 20th November night and will end on 22nd November, from 7 in the evening to 5 in the morning. Members of the public are welcome to together celebrate the event by taking photos of the bridges and upload to the social media with a '#UniversalChildrenDayBN' or WorldChildrensDay.
