More efforts need to be done in mobilising resources to support the sustainability agenda and preparing our people to adapt to an increasingly digital environment. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, stressed the importance of shaping forward looking policies for future generations. Speaking at the Second G20 Finance Ministers' and Central Bank Governors' Meeting held virtually, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, representing Brunei Darussalam in his capacity as the ASEAN Chair for Finance Track this year, also welcomed the good progress in the work under G20 finance track since the February Meeting and shared the view that the updated G20 Action Plan reflects the Group's commitment to navigate international cooperation towards recovery and getting ready for a post- COVID 19 world.
Yang Berhormat also acknowledged that the pandemic has created opportunities to strengthen international cooperation on many fronts such as health, trade and finance. On this note, Yang Berhormat voiced ASEAN's support of the G20's call for the multilateral financial institutions and development banks to support global efforts towards a green, resilient and inclusive recovery. Also present at the meeting was Dayang Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar, Managing Director of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam AMBD, in her capacity as ASEAN Chair for Central Bank Track for 2021.
