His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday morning graced the Get-Together Ceremony with the Citizens and Residents of Tutong District in conjunction with His Majesty's 75th Birthday Celebration. Tutong District was the first district to receive the monarch's presence for the ceremony this year. The ceremony took place at the Tutong District Civic Centre Complex Field.
Hundreds of students lined up along the streets to welcome His Majesty, waving miniature national flags, starting from the Tutong District Officer's Official Residence towards the Tutong Civic Centre Complex Field.
The beating of the hadrah further enlivened the arrival of His Majesty.
Upon arriving, His Majesty was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs as the Chairman of the National Committee for the 75th Royal Birthday Celebration.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons and brothers;
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;
- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; And
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The Special Performance themed "Raja Terbilang Negara Cemerlang" or Great Monarch, Excellent Nation enlivened the ceremony. The musical drama styled performance was participated by almost 3 hundred participants comprising students, members of mukim and village consultative councils, volunteers, as well as the public and private sectors.
The climax of the performance combined all the participants singing the theme song "Raja Terbilang Negara Cemerlang".
Before leaving to mingle with the citizens and residents at the get-together Ceremony, His Majesty mingled with the performance participants.
