Three main values need to be instilled namely, loyalty to the sultan and country, confidence in Islamic values, as well as social harmony and traditional practices in order to achieve Wawasan Brunei 2035. To ensure that the wawasan Negara can be successfully achieved every citizen and resident of Brunei Darussalam need to play a role and make themselves into useful assets in nation building by equipping themselves with knowledge and skills, enhancing competitiveness, being innovative and creative. This was among the matters touched upon in yesterday's Friday Sermon, themed The 33rd National Day, Making A Success of the National Vision.
The imam or prayer leader in his sermon said that verily, to achieve success and the survival of the race and nation, the country's citizens and residents need to be united, either the government or private sector, to together enhance efforts in nation development in order to achieve the wawasan 2035 objective. Therefore, in conjunction with the 33rd Brunei Darussalam National Day celebration, we should express our gratefulness for the peace and prosperity enjoyed by us, by filling mosques, suraus and religious halls throughout the country on the eve of the celebration which is Wednesday evening, 20th of Jamadilawal 1438 Hijrah corresponding to 22nd of February for the mass Maghrib prayer, reading of surah yassin and doa kesyukuran with the main focus at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan. It is hoped that with this, the country will continue to be an independent and sovereign country and become Baldatun Tayyibatun Warabbun Ghafur, a country that is prosperous and content under the care of Allah the forgiving.
