The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam expressed its appreciation and congratulated the government of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Haj and Umrah for the excellent management and organisation as well as the hospitality given to the haj pilgrims during the 1437 Hijrah Haj Season. The Minister of Religious Affairs stated this at the Annual Ministerial Haj Management Meeting 1438 Hijrah for Brunei Darussalam.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, added that the Brunei government also welcomed the invitation and high commitment of the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, government of Saudi Arabia in holding continuous discussions on haj management affairs with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, solely for the welfare and comfort of the Brunei Darussalam intending haj pilgrims every haj season.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the government of Saudi Arabia, Yang Berhormat Doctor Mohammed Salih bin Tahir Bentin, Minister of Haj and Umrah, praised and expressed appreciation for the Brunei Darussalam Haj pilgrims who were always highly disciplined under the organisation of the Brunei Darussalam Haj Management Temporary Office 1437 Hijrah Haj Season with Brunei Darussalam Haj Package Services Companies and Royal Brunei Airlines. Yang Berhormat also explained the efforts currently implemented by the Ministry of Haj and Umrah as well as the government of Saudi Arabia in updating and improving the haj management affairs such as accommodation, transportation, flights and others for the upcoming 1438 Hijrah haj season.

The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Yusoff bin Haji Awang Ismail, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to Saudi Arabia; Pengiran Haji Irman bin Pengiran Haji Othman, Acting General-Consul of Brunei Darussalam in Jeddah; Awang Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohamad, Acting Director of Haj Management and Awang Haji Abd Nasir bin Haji Bolhassan, representative of Royal Brunei Airlines.
