His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman yesterday graced an Afternoon Tea Reception in conjunction with His Royal Highness's 43rd Birthday Anniversary organised by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF.
Upon arrival at the Bolkiah Garrison Officers Mess, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness were welcomed by (Retired) First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence and wife AND Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohammad Tawih bin Abdullah, the Commander of the RBAF and wife. Also in attendance were His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah.
His Royal Highness was then introduced to the RBAF's Senior Officers who had attended military courses abroad; newly commissioned officers who received awards of excellence from the 15th Intake of the RBAF Officer Cadet School; scholars of the Supreme Commander of the RBAF Scholarship and the RBAF Scholarship and gold medal winners in the 26th ASEAN Armies Rifles Meets (AARM) Shooting competition in the Philippines last year.
At the reception, His Royal Highness viewed a video clip of His Royal Highness's series of visits to the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF. His Royal Highness also received an album entitled, "Sejambak Ristaan 8", containing a collection of photographs of His Royal Highness's visits to the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF.
His Royal Highness The Crown Prince later signed a visit parchment. As the culmination of the reception, His Royal Highness cut the Royal Birthday cake.
His Royal Highness also received a pasambah in the form of cycling accessories which was presented by the Commander of the RBAF on behalf of the forces' officers. The pasambah symbolises His Royal Highness's activeness and leadership in leading the RBAF and active involvement in sports at the national and regional level. It also showed His Royal Highness' concern in upholding the country's vision to achieve a high quality living for the rakyat, in which the physical activities play an important role to a healthy lifestyle.
To bless the ceremony, the doa kesyukuran was read by Lieutenant Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, Head of RBAF Religious Department. Before leaving the function, His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness received the junjung ziarah or greeting and mingle with officers of the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. His Royal Highness is a leader who has been influential and committed in supporting the benevolent leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, particularly in defence matters.
His Royal Highness was born on the 17th of February 1974 at Istana Darul Hana. The bestowal of the rank of RBAF General on 25th March 2004, strengthened His Royal Highness's commitment in matters related to the forces. As a RBAF General, His Royal Highness is always aware of current developments and the welfare affairs of RBAF personnel. His Royal Highness also plays an important role in elevating the image of the RBAF.
