The country's intending Haj pilgrims who have been selected to become Allah's guests are fortunate as the government provides Haj courses prior to their departure to the holy land. The courses are hoped to provide an understanding, knowledge and guidance on performing the Haj and its laws.
This year's Haj courses began simultaneously throughout the country yesterday. Eight religious schools will be used for the course classes, including 4 in the Brunei Muara District.
The intending pilgrims will attend the courses every Fridays and Sundays until the 21st of May, from 8 to 10 in the morning. In the Brunei Muara District, the courses are held at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Amal Umi Khalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Kampung Mulaut, Lambak Kanan Religious School in Kampung Lambak Kanan, Pengiran Anak Puteri Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah Religious School, Berakas AND Sungai Besar Religious School, Kampung Sungai Besar.
Meanwhile, in the Belait District, similar courses are held at the Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Religious School in Kuala Belait and Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah Religious School in Seria. For the Tutong district, the courses are held at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Norain Religious School, Tutong, while the Temburong Arabic Preparatory School is designated for the course in the Temburong District. The classes are conducted by officers, prayer leaders and teachers from the Islamic Studies Department, Mosque Affairs Department, Islamic Dakwah Centre, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College and the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute.
