Doa Selamat Ceremony for Country's Intending Haj Pilgrims


This year, Brunei Darussalam has been selected by the Government of  Saudi Arabia as one of the countries that will benefit from the implementation of the Makkah Route Initiative which aims to facilitate and expedite the process of entry of the country's Haj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, namely through the completion of immigration procedures at the Brunei International Airport. The matter was stated by the Minister of Religious Affairs at a Doa Selamat and get-together ceremony with this year's intending Haj Pilgrims. The event took place at the Bridex Banquet Hall, Jerudong, 1st May afternoon.

Tilawah Al-Qur'an Scheme for Children


In an effort to further strengthen the culture of reading the Qur'an among the younger generation, the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Islamic Studies Department earlier this year established the Tilawah Al-Qur'an Scheme for Children, STAKA, specifically for children aged 10 to 11. The scheme is among the initiatives of the Ministry to achieve the country's desire to produce more Qur'an literate generation who are not only fluent in reading, but also understand and internalise its contents, besides making the Qur'an a guide in daily life.

Zainul Qur'an Workshop


Various intensive trainings covering quality Al-Qur'an recitation techniques, mastery of tarannum, voice and breathing control as well as tilawah performance styles were highlighted during the Zainul Qur'an Workshop. The 6-day workshop took place at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Mutawakillah Hayatul Bolkiah Religious School, Kampung Serusop.
