1 Case Passed Away
The Ministry of Health informed that 1 COVID-19 confirmed case has passed away yesterday. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at the media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon. Joining the media conference at Dewan Al ' Afiah, Ministry of Health was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education.
113 New Cases, 4 New Clusters Detected
113 new COVID-19 cases have been detected in the country yesterday, taking the total cases to 6,813.
Residents in Red Zone
The Minister of Health also advised residents living in mukims designated as red zones to not go out except to obtain necessities only.
Presentation of Contributions
The Ministry of Home Affairs through the National Disaster Management Centre and the Ministry of Health yesterday morning received a contribution in the form of personal protective equipment from the People's Republic of China through the Nanjing Municipal People's Government, Nanjing Chemical Construction Corporation Limited and NJNCC Sendirian Berhad. The contribution presentation took place at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Donation to Curb COVID-19
Various donations continue to receive by the Ministry of Health in assisting the government of His Majesty specifically the Ministry of Health in curbing the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
Doa Kesyukuran in Conjunction with 28th Civil Service Day
In conjunction with the 28th Civil Service Day, the Public Service Department, Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Religious Affairs held the reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's late parents, Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit as well as His Majesty's late son, Al- Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji Abdul ' Azim. The ceremony which ran concurrently with the reading of Doa Kesyukuran was broadcast late yesterday afternoon at all television channels and radios.
APEC Women and the Economy Forum
Various efforts are made to increase the resilience of women from uncertainty in the future. Among them are to continue the provision of healthcare services for women and girls, as well as providing entrepreneurial support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The Permanent Secretary for Economy at the Ministry of Finance and Economy outlined the matter at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, APEC Women and the Economy Forum.
1st Innovation Platform Dialogue
Findings from the International Labour Organisation, ILO showed that the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the employment of youths more than adults. This was among the matters shared by the Permanent Secretary for Community and Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as Chair of the Senior Officials Meeting for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Council, SOCA during the 1st Innovation Platform Dialogue. The dialogue held via video conference was themed 'Youth Employment and Digitalisation in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, ASCC Perspectives'. According to Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, with the ASEAN region comprising of 40% youth population, broad policy support is needed to ensure ASEAN is able to meet the needs and aspirations of its young people, as they will define ASEAN's common future.
Strengthen Islamic Arts and Calligraphy
The Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Arts and Calligraphy Studies Centre and Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU to empower and strengthen capabilities in Islamic arts and calligraphy. The signing was held via online.
