Message of Condolences following the recent earthquake in Southern Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines


His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a message of condolences to His Excellency Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Junior, President of the Republic of the Philippines, the Government and the people of the Republic of the Philippines, following the recent earthquake in Southern Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines that resulted in the loss of lives and destruction.

Courtesy Call by the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Brunei Darussalam


The close bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Azerbaijan were emphasised by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council during a courtesy call made by His Excellency Irfan Shakir Oglu Davudov, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Brunei Darussalam. According to Yang Berhormat, this included efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations between the Legislative Council and the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijanas a step to strengthen understanding and expand legislative cooperation between the two countries.

Multaqa Da'ie Expands Knowledge


The Multaqa Da'ie is one of the initiatives of the Islamic Da'wah Centre in providing a platform for da'ies to expand their knowledge, generate more dynamic thinking and share experiences through meetings with local and foreign academic figures and scholars. Signing of Manpower Provision Agreement


The collaboration between the Ministry of Health and DST Managed Services Sendirian Berhad, DMS is an important step in strengthening health, safety and environmental standards. The Ministry of Health and DMS Signed a Manpower Provision Agreement for the Health, Safety and Environment, HSE Division. Through the professional expertise provided, the collaboration will enable hospitals and health centres to further enhance safety protocols, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, and inculcate safety practices. The signing ceremony took place at Mutiara Exchange, Tungku Highway.

Symposium on Educational Development


The education system is not exempted from rapid technological shifts, global uncertainties and the urgent need for sustainable practices towards creating a more resilient, inclusive and forward-looking education system. Speaking during the Opening of the International Symposium on Educational Development, ISED, the Minister of Education highlighted that generative AI in pedagogy, and on inclusive behaviour management are not just academic exercises. They are the building blocks of better classrooms, stronger communities, and a more hopeful future. Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah bin Haji Mohd Salleh also shared that by positioning Brunei Darussalam as a dynamic hub for education and development, it can strengthen the bond and also contribute to the prosperity of the ASEAN region. The symposium held at The Empire Brunei, Jerudong is organised by Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD in collaboration with The Education University of Hong Kong, EDUHK.

41st OPEC and Non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting


The 41st OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting was held virtually on 07th June. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office for Energy, Upstream and Downstream attended the meeting. During the meeting, the OPEC and non-OPEC Participating Countries reaffirmed their long-standing commitment under the Declaration of Cooperation, D-o-C to support a stable and balanced global oil market. The meeting reiterated the continuity of existing crude oil production levels until the end of 2026 and strengthened the role of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee in closely overseeing market conditions and participating countries' conformity.
