Rites of Sacrifice Proof of Loyalty


His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah says that slaughtering sacrificial animals, whether obligatory or commendable, is a very meaningful proof of loyalty and Allah will not disregard it. His Majesty emphasises the matter in the titah in conjunction with Hari Raya 'Idil Adha for 1447 Hijrah, 2026 broadcast nationwide. 'Idil Adha, His Majesty says is the most prominent Islamic syi'ar, as it refers to the great event of a father and son fulfilling Allah's commandment, even though the command is too difficult to be carried out.

The Hari Raya 'Idil Adha Takbir


The Hari Raya 'Idil Adha takbir resounded at all mosques and suraus nationwide. The focus of the ceremony tonight was at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampung Kiarong. Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin Bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. The Korban or Rites of Sacrifice will begin on 28th May 2026, after the Sunat Hari Raya Aidil Adha prayer, and will continue on the 3 Tasyrik days.

Day of Arafah Sermon


The religious act of Haj teaches Muslims the meaning of sacrifice and patience when facing various trials and challenges while in the Holy Land. This was among the matters emphasised in the Sermon on the Day of Arafah delivered by Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop. The Sermon on the Day of Arafah also outlined that with an accepted Haj, it is hoped changes will be brought about in each pilgrim to become a righteous person who is able to bring goodness to others.

Power Supply Disruption and Restoration Efforts


Power supply in several areas in the four districts was affected on 26th May night. The Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office announced that power supply was restored in phases starting at 2:33 in the morning, with a majority of the affected areas being successfully restored by 5:42 in the morning. While the remaining areas were fully restored at 9 in the morning.

Conservation Exhibition: Preserved Heritage


The Pameran Konservasi: Warisan Terpelihara or Conservation Exhibition: Preserved Heritage is a platform to raise public awareness on the importance of preserving museum collection materials as well as the historical, cultural and identity values contained in heritage artefacts.
